Mohamed M. Al-Kazaz is an associate professor of medicine in cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and section chief of general cardiology at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. He specializes in pericardial and valve disease, including complex valvular pathology, myocarditis and aortic disease, with expertise in advanced echocardiography. His research focuses on pericardial and valvular disease and cardiac imaging, including clinical trials of pericarditis therapeutics, medical therapy for aortic stenosis and transcatheter valve therapies. He also directs Northwestern’s centralized telemetry monitoring unit and has an interest in clinical operations and program building. After earning his MD in Qatar in 2012, he completed internal medicine training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and cardiovascular fellowship at Mount Sinai, where he later served on the faculty before joining Northwestern in 2022.
