Alexandru B. Chicos is a Northwestern University cardiologist who leads the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology). His clinical and research work centers on heart rhythm disorders, with particular interests in sudden-death prevention, cardiac resynchronization, complex arrhythmia ablation, atrial-fibrillation treatment, and cardiac sarcoidosis. He earned his MD from Carol Davila University in 1994, completed internal medicine and cardiology training at Jacobi Medical Center, and pursued fellowships at the University of Illinois Hospital and Northwestern’s McGaw Medical Center. He is board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, has been a Heart Rhythm Society member since 2006, and has served on the Journal of Cardiac Electrophysiology editorial board since 2021.
