Harpreet Singh Grewal

Harpreet Singh Grewal is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, a transplant pulmonologist and intensivist whose listed expertise covers advanced lung disease, lung transplantation, ECMO and respiratory failure. He earned his MD at Ross University School of Medicine, trained in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University (MetroHealth) and completed pulmonary fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where he published on lung transplant donors, post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder and a widely cited CHEST review of tracheobronchial injury management with Atul Mehta; he then practiced in Newark, New Jersey, senior-authoring a 2020 study of COVID-19 in Newark's Black and Latino patients, before joining Columbia. His stated research interests are ECMO in lung transplantation and lung transplant outcomes, and since joining Columbia he has co-authored lung transplant outcome papers with Arcasoy, Benvenuto, D'Ovidio and Angela DiMango (single-lung transplantation, hypothermic organ preservation, retransplantation, allocation) and the 2026 JCI Insight post-COVID fibrosis paper with Baldwin; he speaks Hindi and Punjabi.
