Pamela Susan Douglas is a cardiovascular researcher and academic physician whose work has shaped cardiovascular imaging research, policy, and clinical trial practice. She is currently Ursula Geller Distinguished Professor of Research in Cardiovascular Diseases and Professor of Medicine at Duke University, a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute, and Director of its Multimodality Imaging Program. Her work focuses on improving the quality and appropriateness of imaging in clinical care, trials, and registries, with interests including heart disease in women, sports cardiology, and cardio-oncology. She earned her M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978, completed residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, and previously served on the faculties of Pennsylvania and Harvard. She formerly led cardiology at Wisconsin and Duke and was president of ASE from 2001 to 2003 and ACC from 2005 to 2006.
