Nilay S. Shah is a Northwestern cardiologist and epidemiologist whose work focuses on preventing cardiovascular disease earlier in life and addressing disparities affecting Asian and South Asian American communities. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology), Medical Social Sciences (Determinants of Health), and Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He earned an MD and Master of Public Health at Northwestern, completed internal medicine residency at Stanford from 2014 to 2017, cardiovascular disease fellowship at Northwestern from 2017 to 2020, and a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology at Northwestern. His research uses population epidemiology, intervention trials, implementation science, and community engagement across individual, health-system, community, and population settings. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
