Jonathan D. Rich is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a leader in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. He serves as Medical Director of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Mechanical Circulatory Support Program and Program Director of its Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program. He earned his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2004, trained in internal medicine at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and completed cardiology and advanced heart failure and transplant fellowships at the University of Chicago, where he was chief cardiology fellow in 2008 and later joined the faculty. His research interests include pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular dysfunction, LVADs, and improving outcomes in heart failure. He is also active in clinical trials and national educational leadership.
