Hector M. Garcia-Garcia is a cardiovascular imaging leader and interventional cardiologist at MedStar. He is Scientific Lead of the Invasive Imaging Core Laboratory and directs angiographic, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and near infrared spectroscopy imaging at the MedStar Cardiovascular Research Network’s Cardiovascular Core Laboratory. He is also an attending cardiologist and chairman of the Clinical Event committee at MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute. His interests include coronary artery disease, coronary interventions, imaging and diagnostics, myocardial infarction and acute coronary syndromes, atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, prevention, chronic conditions, and digital health. Earlier, he was a researcher at Erasmus Medical Center and directed a core invasive imaging laboratory at a clinical research organisation. He trained in Mexico and earned epidemiology and clinical research degrees from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
