Senthil Selvaraj is a Duke heart failure physician-scientist whose translational research examines how cardiovascular metabolism may improve care for patients with heart failure. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Duke’s Division of Cardiology and Duke Molecular Physiology Institute, using deep phenotyping, multi-omic biomarkers, exercise physiology, echocardiography, arterial stiffness, and metabolic imaging. His recent work explores endogenous and exogenous ketogenic therapies, including the KETO-HFpEF clinical trial. Selvaraj trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was Chief Resident and a Preventive Cardiology Fellow in 2016 to 2017, then completed cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure/transplant fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania from 2017 to 2022. He earned degrees from Northwestern and the University of Pennsylvania.
