Ron Waksman

Ron Waksman is an interventional cardiologist and cardiovascular research and education leader at MedStar Health, where he directs the MedStar Cardiovascular Research Network and co-leads interventional cardiology and structural heart research. He is a Professor of Medicine (cardiology) at Georgetown University, co-directs the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program, and directs Experimental Angioplasty and Emerging Technologies at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. His research interests include angioplasty, bioabsorbable and biodegradable stents, lipid sciences, and gene cell therapy. He also leads the Cardiovascular Revascularization Therapies meeting and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Ben Gurion University, completed residencies at Hadassah University, and pursued cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship training at Emory University Hospital.
