James D Thomas is a Northwestern University professor of medicine in cardiology whose documented work centers on cardiovascular imaging, echocardiography, and cardiac mechanics. He earned his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1981, completed cardiology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1984, a cardiology fellowship at the University of Vermont in 1986, and a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1988.
