Allison R. Zielinski is a Northwestern cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine whose leadership spans sports cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation. She directs Northwestern’s Central Region Sports Cardiology Program and serves as Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation. Her clinical interests include general cardiology, sports cardiology, and echocardiography, while her research interests include the effects of long-term endurance exercise on the heart and electrocardiographic abnormalities in athletes. An avid runner and triathlete, she has completed several marathons, Ironman 70.3 races, and two full Ironman triathlons. She earned a BA in English from Georgetown University in 2000 and an MD from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2010, followed by internal medicine training and cardiovascular disease fellowship. She is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, and adult echocardiography.
