Dan J Fintel is a Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine professor of medicine in cardiology whose work spans clinical trials, cardiovascular care, teaching, and medical education. His research interests include antithrombotic therapy, atrial fibrillation, coronary and ischemic heart disease, hypertension, lipid disorders, nuclear cardiology, preventive cardiology, and cardiovascular pharmacology. He maintains an active cardiology practice and teaches students, residents, fellows, and physicians. Fintel earned a BS from Yale in 1975 and an MD from Harvard in 1979, followed by internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has led or participated in clinical trials and published original research and reviews across these fields. His service has included ADAPTABLE leadership, American Heart Association committee work, and the Harvard-MIT Heart, Science, Technology Program.
