Khyati Haresh Baxi is a Duke cardiologist whose work and public education address heart disease, including cardiovascular health in women. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke. Her training includes an M.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia in 2010, internal medicine residency at the University of South Florida from 2010 to 2013, and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Florida Health Jacksonville from 2013 to 2016. Her publications include a 2014 review examining the obesity paradox in heart failure and a 2014 chapter on valvular heart disease in women. In 2019, she participated in Women’s Health Awareness programming on women, hormones, and heart health and in a Duke Heart Day panel. She has emphasized community education as a way to raise awareness of heart disease in women.
