Fawaz Alenezi is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University whose work combines cardiovascular imaging with clinical research. His documented research includes artificial intelligence applied to echocardiography to identify and characterize pulmonary hypertension and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, as well as studies of cardiac function and immune status in people living with HIV. He was first author and presenting investigator for two AI echocardiography studies presented at the 2026 European Society of Cardiology Congress. His training includes an M.D. from Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy, internal medicine and cardiology training at Cairo University Hospital, and Duke fellowships in echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI. He also presented a 2017 Cardiovascular Imaging Grand Rounds session on strain echocardiography.
