Charles J Davidson is a Northwestern cardiologist and academic leader whose work centers on catheter-based treatment for structural and coronary heart disease. He is Executive Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine and Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His clinical interests include transcatheter valve therapy, coronary angioplasty, stents, cardiac catheterization, and diabetic heart disease. He leads active Northwestern trials including CLASP IID/IIF, REPAIR-MR, TANDEM II EFS, and TWIST EFS, and has served as national principal investigator for the CLASP TR pivotal trial since 2015. Davidson earned his MD from the University of Connecticut in 1982, trained at Northwestern, and completed a Duke cardiology fellowship in 1988. He has also held longstanding ACGME, editorial, and professional-society leadership roles.
