I chose Mayo for residency because during my time at Mayo Clinic in Arizona for medical school, I was drawn to how Mayo lives up to their primary value of "the needs of the patient come first". I wanted to continue to train at a program that emphasized putting the patient at the center of everything we do. I also loved how welcoming and supportive all of the residents and faculty were. Being from Wisconsin, I wanted to come back to the Midwest region and fell in love with Rochester when I came to visit during rotations in medical school.Ideal practice: I am hoping to pursue a fellowship in sports medicine and so my dream would be to work as a sports medicine physician for the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack Go!). I would also enjoy going into private practice and incorporating sports medicine.
