Karen Flores Rosario is a Duke assistant professor, advanced heart failure specialist, and transplant cardiologist whose work centers on genetic cardiomyopathies and complex transplant care. She facilitates a Duke clinic offering genetic testing and counseling for patients and families affected by inherited cardiomyopathies. Her clinical expertise includes LVAD care, heart transplantation, and transplant evaluation. She earned an MD from the University of Wisconsin in 2017, completed Internal Medicine residency at UT Southwestern from 2017 to 2020, and completed cardiology and advanced heart failure/transplant fellowships at Duke from 2020 to 2024. Her research interests include genetic heart disease, cardiac MRI, and health disparities affecting Hispanic populations.
