Elizabeth Gay

Elizabeth Gay is a pulmonary and critical care physician and fellowship leader at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she directs the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Her clinical work spans the medical intensive care unit, pulmonary vascular disease service, and pulmonary clinic, alongside research on health disparities. She has also been identified as director of the hospital’s COVID Recovery Center, with interests in the long-term effects of COVID-19 and longitudinal recovery-center cohorts. Gay earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2003, completed internal medicine residency at the University of Washington from 2003 to 2006, and pursued pulmonary disease and critical care medicine fellowship training at Mount Sinai from 2006 to 2009. Her public teaching includes challenging pulmonary cases, tricuspid regurgitation, and Long COVID health equity.
