Lubna Choudhury is a Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine professor of medicine in cardiology whose clinical and research work centers on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Her research examines relationships between clinical outcomes and cardiac imaging findings, while her clinical interests include HCM, sudden cardiac death family history, left ventricular hypertrophy, valvular and coronary disease, and preoperative cardiac evaluation. She earned her MBBChBAO in 1986 and MD in 1995 from University College Galway, completed internal medicine residency and chief residency at Wayne State University in 1997 and 1998, and completed cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Northwestern’s McGaw Medical Center in 2001. She leads active HCM trials including CY6022, SONATA-HCM, and FORTITUDE-HCM, and has received multiple Feinberg teaching honors.
