Michael Nanna is a Yale faculty leader in interventional cardiology whose work focuses on improving cardiovascular care for older adults with multimorbidity. He is an assistant professor of internal medicine, Director of Yale’s HeartWise Lab, and Associate Program Director of the Yale Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship. His research emphasizes risk prediction, treatment utilization, and shared decision-making, including the persistent underrepresentation of older adults in coronary artery disease research. He is national principal investigator for the PCORI-funded LIVEBETTER trial. Nanna earned a BA from Colgate University in 2008 and an MD from Stony Brook in 2012, completed internal medicine residency and chief residency at Yale from 2012 to 2016, then trained in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Duke. He completed a Duke MHS in Clinical Research in 2019.
