Anita Kelsey is a Duke University Professor of Medicine whose work centers on cardiology, echocardiography, heart failure, and valve disease. She earned a B.S.E. from Duke in 1986 and an M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1991, completed medicine residency at Connecticut from 1993 to 1995 and cardiology fellowship at Duke from 1995 to 1998, and later earned a Duke M.B.A. in 2019. After joining Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in 2003, she created its Women’s Heart Program in 2006 and served as director as of 2016. Her publications address echocardiographic risk markers, heart-failure outcomes, mitral valvuloplasty, and aortic aneurysm surveillance. She has also contributed to public education on women’s cardiovascular health.
