Biography Fiona Strasserking, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Division of Cardiology. Her areas of interest are health disparities, cardiovascular diseases in global health, and cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Strasserking holds a bachelor's degree in health sciences from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s McGovern Medical School, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She then gained advanced training through a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During her fellowship, she was selected as a Fogarty Global Health Fellow through the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Strasserking is veteran of the United States Navy, where she served as a hospital corpsman. Certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
