Josephine Harrington is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine whose clinical and research interests focus on improving care for patients with heart failure and obesity. She attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts Worcester, completed residency at the University of Texas Southwestern, and completed cardiology training at Duke, including two years at the Duke Clinical Research Institute on a T32 grant. As a fellow, she piloted a clinic for patients whose BMI limited access to heart transplantation. Her research examines obesity, markers of heart failure severity, and the effects of weight loss. She has contributed to heart failure education and public education on structural barriers to obesity care. She is an avid hiker who loves good food and bad puns.
