Vera H Rigolin is a Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine professor of medicine in cardiology whose clinical interests include echocardiography, valve disease, and women’s cardiovascular health. She earned her MD from Northwestern in 1988, completed internal medicine residency through Northwestern’s McGaw Medical Center in 1991, and completed a cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in 1995. Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography, and perioperative echocardiography, she has held major professional-society leadership roles, including president of the American Society of Echocardiography from 2017 to 2018 and chair from 2020 to 2023. Since 2025, she has served on the ASE Board of Directors, the AHA cardiac imaging and intervention committee, and the AHA/ACC Valvular Heart Disease Guidelines writing committee.
