Adrian Felipe Hernandez is a cardiologist and clinical research leader at Duke. He earned an M.D. from the University of Texas, Dallas, completed residency at the University of California-San Francisco, and joined the Duke Clinical Research Institute as a cardiology fellow in 2002. He became a DCRI member in 2004 and has been a Professor of Medicine since 2015. Since 2017, he has served as Vice Dean for Clinical Research at Duke University School of Medicine, and since 2020 as DCRI Executive Director. His work spans quality of care and clinical trials, with a focus on heart failure, large studies embedded in health systems or daily life, and home-based research methods. He is also Executive Core Faculty at Duke-Margolis.
