Lawrence Liao is a cardiologist and faculty physician whose documented work connects heart-failure resource use, cardiovascular prevention, cognitive impairment, and health policy. In 2003, he was identified as a Duke cardiologist and principal investigator of Duke studies examining heart-failure resource use, and he presented the analysis at an American Heart Association scientific session. He said policymakers needed concrete data to allocate scarce resources for treatment and research.
