Clyde W. Yancy is a cardiologist and academic leader whose work spans heart failure, cardiovascular research, and health equity. At Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, he is Vice Dean for Health Equity, Chief of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine, Magerstadt Professor, and professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Medical Social Sciences (Determinants of Health). He joined Northwestern in 2011 after serving as chief of cardiothoracic transplant services and director of the Baylor Heart and Vascular Institute. His training includes a 1982 medical degree from Tulane, internal medicine training at Parkland Memorial Hospital, cardiology and advanced heart failure transplant fellowships at UT Southwestern, and a 2010 master’s degree. His interests include cardiomyopathy, hypertension, preventive cardiology, heart valve disease, heart failure prevention, and cardiovascular disparities.
