Mitchell Wolfe Krucoff is a Duke cardiology faculty leader whose career spans interventional cardiology, cardiovascular-device research, electronic electrocardiography, and regulatory collaboration. He has been Professor of Medicine at Duke since 2005 and a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute since 2006. After graduating magna cum laude from Yale in 1976, he earned his MD from George Washington University in 1980, completed internal-medicine residency there, and pursued cardiology fellowship at Georgetown. He joined Duke’s faculty in 1988. Since 1990, he has served as a Special Government Employee for the FDA, receiving its Distinguished Service Award in 2007. His interests also include complementary and alternative medical practice. He coauthored Healing Moves with columnist Carol Krucoff and has reflected publicly on career transitions, teaching, and retirement.
