Dennis M. Abraham is a Duke cardiology physician-scientist whose work connects cardiac physiology, heart failure, and mechanisms of cardiovascular remodeling. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke and has served as Director of the Duke Cardiovascular Physiology Core. His research has examined TREK-1 potassium-channel signaling in cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction, USP20 regulation in hypertrophied hearts, and metabolic remodeling associated with chronic kidney disease. He has received support from the American Heart Association, NIH, and NASA for studies spanning cardiac fibrosis, myocardial signaling, and space-radiation-related cardiovascular degeneration. Abraham earned an M.D. from Thomas Jefferson University in 2002, then completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Mount Sinai from 2002 to 2005.
