I could feel the warm, welcoming culture of the program during my interviews, and instantly knew that Mayo would be a place that would foster my personal and professional growth while keeping my overall wellbeing in mind. Additionally, the opportunity to train at such a world-class institution while being exposed to diverse models of care at the rural clinic in Kasson, the inpatient service in Rochester and the various elective sites presented a unique training environment that I am excited to dive into. Ideal practice: My ideal practice would be in a metropolitan adjacent location with scheduled outreach days to more rural communities. I would like a full spectrum practice that incorporates my interests in women’s health, skin health, mental wellness, addiction medicine, pain medicine and procedures. I would additionally like to be involved in medical leadership, academia and efforts to improve global health equity. I look forward to further shaping these interests throughout residency.
