Michael McLatchey, M.D. Hometown: Orlando, FloridaMedical School: St. George's University School of MedicineFavorite Movie: Dumb and DumberInterests: Traveling, yoga, golf, tennis, dogs, eating vegetables, playing chess, the perfect shot of espresso, hanging out with my amazing wife and son.Why Mayo? I felt an instant connection with the people at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The leadership works hard to foster an environment that makes each resident feel supported and appreciated, while also challenging us to grow into the best physicians that we can be. The combination of world-class academic medicine in Rochester with the community-focused practice in Kasson truly provides the best of both worlds for us as family medicine residents. The Mayo Clinic mantra — "The needs of the patient come first" — permeates through every level of Mayo Clinic and creates an incredibly inspiring atmosphere for learning and healing. Ideal practice: Integrated outpatient practice that combines family medicine with addiction medicine and lifestyle medicine, ideally in an academic setting where I can do lots of teaching!
