Joshua Rushakoff is a Duke University cardiology trainee focused on advanced heart failure and heart transplantation. He is currently a Fellow in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and House Staff in Cardiology; his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship began in 2023. Born and raised in San Francisco, he attended the University of California, Davis, earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, and completed residency and a chief resident year at Cedars Sinai. Before medical school, he worked for a year in rural Kentucky on a CDC community transformation project. During medical school, he pursued a Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. His transplant work has included research on transplant outcomes and immunology, and he plans an academic career combining clinical and research work in heart transplantation.
