Deepak Voora is a Duke cardiologist and professor whose work connects cardiovascular medicine with pharmacogenomics and precision medicine. He earned his M.D. from Northwestern University in 2002, completed Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from 2002 to 2005, and trained in Cardiovascular Disease at Duke University Medical Center from 2006 to 2010. At Duke, he has been a member of the Center for Applied Genomics & Precision Medicine since 2010 and an executive team member since 2014. He was named founding director of PHASER in 2019, a Veterans pharmacogenetic-testing program. His research includes aspirin-related gene regulation and response signatures, statin pharmacogenetics, and genomic approaches to cardiovascular risk and medication selection.
