Ike S. Okwuosa is a Northwestern cardiologist and medical-education leader whose work connects advanced heart failure, cardiac amyloidosis, transplantation, and health equity with physician training and mentorship. He is Assistant Dean of Medical Education and Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. After earning his MD from Georgetown in 2010, he completed internal medicine training at Northwestern and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at Johns Hopkins, concluding in 2017. He holds American Board of Internal Medicine certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. His recent publications include work on hydroxychloroquine cardiotoxicity with transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis, malignancy after heart transplantation, and equity in heart-failure interventions. In 2026, he became a consulting editor for JACC: Advances.
