Mariem Sawan is a Duke University Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiology whose work centers on interventional cardiology and patient-centered cardiovascular care. She completed an M.B.B.S. at King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia in 2012, internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center from 2016 to 2019, and cardiology training at Emory University from 2019 to 2025, including chief fellow and complex, high-risk coronary intervention fellow roles. She is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
