Associate Professor of Medicine
Current relationship
Albert Y. Sun is a Duke University associate professor of medicine whose work focuses on cardiac arrhythmias and electrophysiology. He earned his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2003, then completed Duke medicine residency training in 2003-2006 and a cardiology fellowship in 2006-2007. His Duke appointments have also included assistant professor, medical instructor, and temporary instructor in medicine. His research includes arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, ventricular ablation, cardiac sarcoidosis, inherited and monogenic arrhythmias, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and left bundle branch area pacing. A 2025-2029 observational cohort examines pathogenic PKP2 variants in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. Recent publications address same-day discharge after ventricular ablation and sex-based differences in left bundle branch capture during pacing.
