Andriana Nikolova is a Cedars-Sinai cardiology faculty member whose work connects heart failure, cardiac transplantation, translational diagnostics, and emerging cardio-oncology. She describes herself as a trained physician-scientist in heart failure and cardiac transplantation and obtained a PhD in Biomedical sciences during cardiology training. Her research focuses on novel diagnostics for patients with heart failure and heart transplant recipients. Her group defined cardiac Bridging Integrator 1 (cBIN1) as a regulator of myocardial remodeling, and she led translational pilot studies applying the biomarker in HFpEF and cardiac allograft rejection. She has broadened her clinical and research interests to cardio-oncology and contributes to establishing a dedicated academic cardio-oncology program at Cedars-Sinai. In 2018, she was identified as a fourth-year cardiology fellow there.
