What Carlo receives
Carlo Med, a service of Carlo Finance, Inc., runs Carlo. Carlo only receives messages meant for it:
- messages that mention it, replies in the threads it opens, its slash commands and direct messages to it;
- with each one, your Discord user ID and username and the server, channel and thread it came from.
When a question needs it, Carlo can read earlier messages in that channel, and only in channels the person asking can read. It does not open pictures or files; it sees only their names.
What we keep
- Your first question makes a Carlo Med account tied to your Discord user ID, so Carlo can keep your conversations and count your daily questions. No email or sign-up is needed.
- Your conversations with Carlo: your questions, its answers and the sources it used.
- If you connect a Carlo Med account, your Discord account is linked to it and your earlier Discord conversations move into it. That account is covered by the Carlo Med privacy policy.
Answers in a server are posted in that channel or thread, where everyone who can see it can read them. Use a direct message for anything you want kept private.
How we use it
We use what Carlo receives to answer you, to keep the service working and safe, and to improve Carlo. We may combine questions with names removed into anonymous summaries. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or publish what one person asked.
Who helps run Carlo
- Discord delivers the messages.
- OpenAI writes Carlo's answers, reached through Vercel's AI Gateway; neither uses them to train its models.
- Serper runs Carlo's web searches; it receives the search, not who asked.
- Vercel and Amazon Web Services host Carlo Med.
Your choices
We keep your conversations while your account exists. To see or delete what we hold about your Discord account, or for any question, email tejas@carlo.med from any address and include your Discord username. Messages Carlo posted in a server stay in Discord unless that server removes them. Carlo is not meant for children under 13. We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
