How it chooses

Only applicants who completed a medical genetics residency can apply, and they must be U.S. citizens, hold a valid ECFMG certificate, or hold a full unrestricted U.S. license.
An internal selection committee then reviews a current photo, personal statement, medical school transcript, three letters of recommendation and a dean's letter, plus an ECFMG certificate for international graduates.
